The Flaming Mojo Story
ACTOR, IMPROVISER, DIRECTOR, WRITER, TEACHER
Hi there, I'm Emma Bowyer the founder of Flaming Mojo.
I like to think of myself as a fire starter, an igniter of that little spark inside all of us, called confidence and positivity that improv generates.
Using the skills I have learned in education and in performing improv over the last (eek) 30 years, I have developed a system using improv and positive psychology that is used in all the workshops and classes I hold.
Helping to build confidence whilst having fun is my reason for getting up in the morning, well that and the coffee, I'm not a saint!
Having trained and worked as a professional actor, as well as having taught in schools and colleges, improv has been a main component throughout my career. The sheer joy of connecting with others and making 'silly-stuff' up is liberating and often ends up with lots of laughter.
It is now widely recognised that improv helps reduce anxiety, boost confidence, and can have an incredibly positive outcome on mental health and well-being, it isn't therapy but the ability to improvise is a powerful tool to have in your toolbox of life skills no matter what your age or position in life.
I LOVE helping people develop and grow by building their confidence in improv. Helping them realise that the skills they learn in improv are transferable to real life, as after all life is really one big improvisation.
